What can I expect from my first consultation?Dr Francois le Roux will start with a thorough consultation of your mouth with a dental mirror, this is to get to know your teeth and soft tissue. X-Rays will be taken to see if there is any damage to the teeth and/or root structure.

Do you accept medical aids?Yes! We accept most medical aids. Please call our reception at 012 0019870 to confirm if your medical aid covers our services.

What are your working hours?We see patients from 8AM - 4:30 PM from Monday to Friday.

What are my payment options?We accept Medical Aid, Cash, credit & debit cards.

How much does a dental check-up cost?Contact reception (012 001 98 70) to inquire about any prices.

Is it possible to do a crown in one sitting?Yes. We use cadcam (Cerec) technology to do this. It is a powerful computer with a 3D camera that is used to scan the tooth after Dr Francois le Roux has prepared the tooth for a crown in the chair. The crown is designed, milled and the final product is placed directly in your mouth.

I have a gap between my two front teeth, what are my options?Gaps can be closed by Invisible aligners. Composite veneers, porcelain veneers & crowns are also some of your options. During the consultation, the doctor will determine which option will suit your specific need and budget.

Do you see patients over weekends?No, unfortunately, we take no patients over weekends.

How often do I need to visit my dentist?Every six months for a check-up and cleaning.

Why are X-Rays needed during a dental check-up?This is a diagnostic tool to help the doctor see any disease or damage that is not visible to the naked eye.

Why is it necessary to do a dental cleaning every six months?1. Your gum health will improve 2. Cavities can be prevented 3. Bad breath is reduced 4. Removes stains from coffee & wine.

Does Dental Whitening damage my teeth?No, dental whitening is not harmful to your teeth, this is a deep cleaning that opens your teeth' pores and cleans the cracks from the inside. This result is a healthier & whiter smile!

Why is it necessary to floss?Flossing is the better way to remove the remaining bacteria after brushing your teeth that are causing bad breath. Flossing also helps reduce the risk of cavities and gum disease.

Why are my gums bleeding?This can be caused by an excess of calculus that is harmful to your gums. This is a good indication that it is time to do a dental cleaning. Calculus is calcified plaque that forms when plaque is not removed by brushing & flossing your teeth.

I have silver fillings what are my options to remove them?We use tooth-coloured composite fillings or porcelain inlays, to remove silver fillings. Especially when the old silver fillings are very large and when old fillings start to disintegrate or fracture.

What is a veneer?1. A composite veneer is a thin layer of tooth-coloured filling that is placed and bonded to the tooth. 2. The porcelain veneer is a thin porcelain layer that is manufactured and cemented onto the tooth surface. A thin layer of the tooth structure is removed to create space for the porcelain veneer.
